Oak & Ember Creations was born from love, loss, creativity, and a desire to turn something deeply painful into something meaningful.

We are a husband-and-wife team who have shared more than 17 years of marriage and raised four beautiful children together. In January 2024, our lives changed forever when we unexpectedly lost our oldest daughter, Cheyenne, at just 24 years old.

Cheyenne was unforgettable. She was our light, our fashionista, and our creative soul. She loved makeup, fashion, beautiful things, and finding ways to make the people around her feel special. Her greatest treasures were her two little boys — our grandsons — who will grow up knowing how deeply their mama loved them and how extraordinary she truly was.

Her creativity, her love, and her light are woven into everything Oak & Ember Creations has become.

The Purpose Behind Oak & Ember

Cheyenne lived with an undiagnosed illness called Addison's Disease, a rare condition in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough of the hormones the body needs to respond to stress, including cortisol.

She ultimately suffered an adrenal crisis.

Before losing Cheyenne, we never imagined that ordinary things such as illness, physical stress, emotional stress, or lack of sleep could become so dangerous for someone. Even with my background as a U.S. Army combat medic, there was so much we did not know.

That realization changed us.

We knew we wanted Cheyenne's story to mean something beyond our own loss. We wanted to help create conversations, encourage awareness, and possibly help another family recognize something sooner than we did.

And from that purpose, Oak & Ember Creations was born.

Cheyenne's light is part of that Ember, and through this business we hope to help others celebrate the people, moments, causes, and stories that keep their own embers burning too.
